THE ELKUPINE LAST SEEN MOVING FURTHER UP MAIN STREET
One of Main Street’s most popular haunts for cocktails and live music, The Cabin, has moved up Main Street into the heart of Old Town, more than tripled in size and added all-day dining. Just up from Park City Live and now occupying two levels of what will become completely remodeled space, Cabin devotees will soon experience what the former spot wasn’t able to provide - dining, increased, modernized space and additional live music - all while still enjoying the long-time, beloved local personalities and employees, comfortable mountain-town, hunting-cabin vibe, and the full bar menu and live events they have enjoyed all along. Al the Elkupine, The Cabin’s beloved mascot with a cult following of fans around the world, will be front and center and leading the charge for all of it.
Owner John Oswald, Co-Founder and former CEO of Paul Frank, branding expert and the founder of Park City’s Cabin with wife Heidi, said ‘We couldn’t be more excited about this or more grateful for all of our local Cabin friends and family. We started this community at The Cabin five years ago and were encouraged to expand when the demand and what we wanted to do exceeded our location’s capacity. When this opportunity came up, we knew it was the perfect move for us at the perfect time.”
The Oswalds brought in celebrated restaurant designer and event producer Brian Dobbin, whose success with the Teton Club in Jackson Hole and the Crescent Hotel in Beverly Hills has firmly established him as a national authority in restaurant development. Dobbin has worked alongside the Oswalds for months to understand the local preferences and needs, designing the brunch, lunch and late-night menu as well as the overall look and function of the kitchen. Guests will be offered "thoughtful, wholesome food with a Cabin-specific twist, all at a reasonable, approachable price point,” explained Dobbin. “I’ve had a lot of fun with this and am hopeful that it’s well received by both the locals and the visitors to town." Dishes like Elkupies - Neapolitan pizzas with organic toppings, five-spice brown sugar ribs, burgers with crispy pancetta topped with a fried green tomato and Parmesan crisp, and a sinfully delicious chocolate carrot cake will be some of the menus daily featured items.
As important as the new dining opportunities and what will be a total of four full bars in the space, VIP booths, tables and large viewing areas have been added around the stage to allow people to really participate in and experience nationally known artists like Chris Robinson of the Black Crows, Charlie Colin of Train, Lukas Nelson, John Popper, and Chali 2Na. There will be 25 TVs airing live sporting events, and all of The Cabin traditions patrons expect and love. Ping Pong, billiards, Karaoke, Dueling Pianos, and Open Mic nights and will resume immediately.
The Cabin’s June 14th official Grand Opening will kick off their new Summer Concert Series, sure to complement and round out all the other music series in town.
